Hi, I’m Jesi!
I am the content creator of heart & hues. I believe everyone has a unique story to tell and this small corner of the web is dedicated to sharing my personal journey of creativity and growth as I continue to pursue wellbeing and move toward a life more aligned with my values.
I am a digital designer by trade and am studying to become a licensed professional counselor, a path that chose me as much as I chose it. At the center of both is a deep curiosity about people and how we make meaning through our relationships, with ourselves, with each other, and with the world around us. I believe creativity and emotional expression are essential to that process, not extras, but the very vehicles through which we grow and heal.
On this blog, you’ll find writing and art about grief, mental health, neurodivergence, and the creative process. I work across many mediums, watercolor, oils, digital, photography, and more, and I write in many forms too, personal essays, poetry, and prose. Some of it is heavy. Some of it is hopeful. Most of it is just, honest.
I write here because I believe in the power of naming things. My brain is wired for pattern and depth, and I’ve spent a lot of my life learning to work with that rather than against it. I’ve navigated loss, identity, and transition in ways that have reshaped me, and I’m still in that process. If all of that is that is appealing to you, I invite you to browse around, cheers!
